Security Indication
You do not have permission to perform this operation.
I get this error after logging into the admin account, and click manager portal in the left nav list of selections. Any suggestions I'd appreciate. Thanks!!
**that is the ONLY tab selection choice that gives me an error fyi.
***this was answered to me via email, -->It seems that your user does not have permissions to access the manager portal.
to grant permissions, please go to preferences > user management > admin manager.
click on your user's name and then go to the permissions tab.
In the permissions tab, please check the "manager" checkbox to gain access to the manager dashboard.
hope it helps anyone else. Thanks!!

Obelix,
If you purchased SysAid before June 2008, then you should have received 1 manager license for one admin as a part of the basic package.
After that, we made a change to the licensing structure and turned the manager dashboard to a seperate module which is not based on licenses, so if you purchase the module, all your administrators can be granted with manager access.
Best regards.

There's something I didn't know and not very well highlighted, did I miss this change in one of the monthly newsletters? Saar, Saar where are you? ..... hee hee
On a serious note may be this needs highlighting to existing customers, unless I just missed the announcement somewhere.
So how much does it cost to license it as a module? have you changed the pricing model for any other parts of SysAid?

We did not made any additional change but I'm taking this seriosly and make sure we'll publish these changes loader and clearer (again, not that we are doing that many...).
Per specific prices, please contact our sales team at sales@ilient.com and they'll be more than happy to send you price list with all the nessassary info (just don't mention you know me - they'll probably increase the price then )

This relates to one of the issues I have with the security setup. Correct me if I am wrong but I think there needs to be another level to security as currently if you make someone an administrator then they have have access to everything including changing what permissions they have such as access to the manager portal. Where as if you set them up as an admin user but dont tick the administrator option then they can do everything that is required for their helpdesk role except for things like being able to alter users (like enabling them etc).
How do you setup your staff? Some of my staff should not have access to modify settings (the blue cog for instance)

lev, if you purchased the "Manager dashboard" module, then yes, you can grant any administrator with manager access.

Actually, you have two levels of "administrators".
One is the regular administrator, with no access to the preferences and customization, and the other is "SysAid administrator" (which you can trigger by checking the SysAid administrator checkbox in the permissions tab), this allow the admin to change every setting in the system.
Best regards.
