I am very keen to know how to populate the "#installed" in the Software Products.
Is this auto populated?
I have added two screen shots where this field is used but appently the values are always 0
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Yes it is automated... the trick is to match exactly what sysaid called a software. Like Windows XP Professional SP2 or Windows XP Professional or... etc.
I raised an sr once about this... but too many maybes to confirms I stop using it and list the thing manually on project as reccuring task for license renewal reminder.
If there is any success implementation of this feature I'd like to know how too...

That is not a bug, it's a feature...

Select 'Install name' in the respective Software Card (System - Software Products) after importing your Assets through SysAidAgent. (Ref. attachemnt)
Then it will automatically populate this field.

Hey Harvinder ,
The # installed is being generated automatically based on the install names you have chosen for this software product.
Also, I can see that you have configured the software product to a company.
Please note, that if you don't have assets listed under the same company, then the number of installs will continue to be zero.
Best regards.

Thanks everyone for the input, it works after using the 'Select Install Names' but seems the OS installed captured by the agent is not in the list of Install Names.
Haim how do we handle licensing for OS installed on each servers in SysAid?
Thanks and regards

Harvinder, for OS, you have a designated report in the analyzer/manager portal called "software/hardware details" where you can choose if you want to run the report with OS type or OS version to receive all the operating system information.
Best regards.

Hi,
I'd like to ask where can I find this report exactly? All I've found was "Software/Hardware Inventory" and "Asset details" reports. It'd be good to know where I can report the OS running on the computers as there are different type of OS on many.
Thanks in advance.

The "Software/Hardware Inventory" report is the correct one.
You need to make a choice from the Item Type list to get the OS Version or OS Type report. You can also check the box which provides the asset details.

Thank you, now I've found it.
I've got a question though: am I right that I can't get it show both OS-type and version of OS at the same time for the individual assets only by modifying the report or creating a new one?

I have computers that have licensed software installed that I must track, but the computers are never connected to a network, and cannot be for security reasons. How can I manually enter an installed license?

You are right ptoberl, the only is way is to modify the existing report or create a new one.

pjroub, there is no way of adding asset manually to the installed names field, but as a work around, you can insert those assets in another field (any other text/int field), and then, just rename it to additional licenses and put the correct number.
