Hello UBC.
SysAid offer a full and in-depth documentation on every aspect of the system, and you are welcome to refer to it at: http://www.ilient.com/contact_support.htm
The internal help inside SysAid is currently a bit out-dated, but we are planning on completely revise SysAid's internal help in one of the next versions to make SysAid even more simple and easy to use.
Money is of course an issue in the current times, but even in this field, the certification can provide you with a benefit since you can learn to implement SysAid for additional uses , thus saving money on other software.
You can also learn how to further utilize SysAid and by doing so, you can improve your productivity and make the workload easier to handle.
Ho, i almost forgot to mention, that the price is not so high, so every company can afford sending one or more of it's IT guys to do the certification.
Best regards.
Haim

From my point of view, it is an awful lot of money to be paying on top of the cost of the software, for what real benefit?
The company will have someone who can use a software they have, but as soon as he leaves this becomes a waste of money. In terms of the Certified Professional, when he leaves the company and moves somewhere that doesn't use SysAid, what has he gained? He can't put his certification to any use, and it certainly won't help his pay packet?
I'm sorry Ilient, it seems to me that you could publish these best practices on the website, help all the users who could learn what the want and need to learn, and save your users money. I am an avid fan of SysAid, and have nothing but praise for the Support Team, from the forums, developers, and their own helpdesk staff, but this does seem like a ploy to get more money.
If you really wanted the users to gain from this, you could open up a new forum for the purpose of discussion of the best practices, and if a chat feature were to come in use a room in that, and all the users would benefit at a huge saving to them, and no real cost to yourselves....
Sorry for being so aggressive!

Hey BJINS.
As I said before, we do not teach any secret techniques, but showing different work procedures the users can learn from.
We do plan to add video tutorials that demonstrate work flows to our site, and also plan to add a "Best practices" forum where the users will share their work flows, and of course, we will give our own tips.
Whether if to invest the money or not is every company's decision based on it's view. we offer the certification as an option, but this of course not the only way to master SysAid.
Best regards.

That is true, it is the companies own choice whether or not to spend the money, but I notice you don't comment on whether there is any benefit from doing it? I still see no reason why, as far as I can see, the certification is teaching people SysAid best practice, which seems to not cost Ilient anything, but the users hundreds of dollars on top of the licenses!

And another thing! :-p
Obelix, i believe by your own admission Haim, has shown himself to be fantastically well read in SysAid and its processes. He is most certainly one of the most helpful names in the forums and has helped me personally before.
But he can't be called a SysAid expert, because he hasn't paid the money to be told things he already knows???
I vote for an honorary "SysAid Expert" certifications for those outstanding contributors who clearly are well versed in the use of SysAid and deserve the title, genuinly.

So, from what you are saying, I can send an email to microsoft and ask them for MCSE since i know how to use windows?
The certification's purpose it to provide the users with the tools to use SysAid to it's fullest, and to receive the certification you also need to undergo a test.
The feedback we have received to the two certification curses was very good, and you can find their recommendations all around the community.
In both courses we had long time SysAid users which are using SysAid every day for the last few years, and guess what, even they learned a few things.
If you feel the certification is not for you, you are not obligated to do it to learn SysAid, the tools are out there, in the community and on our website, we just gathered them into 7 lectures with all the information and experience we have gained while using and assisting other users to implement SysAid.

Instead of providing the users, which you brag so much being all over the globe, a training program ; I think more effort should be put on the help file included in the product. I believe it hasn't change since the death of blue SysAid.
Most of the implementation will tightly be aligned to local policy anyway...
OOoo... knowledge base on user portal is an alternative where you should put your bet on.
A webinar/webcast would be more alluring...
I just want to know how to get the blue SysAid color...? As I really do enjoy using SysAid--this grey color depresses me. I think that you should allow individual users to choose a color scheme... Bring Ol'Blue Back!!!!
Sorry--a little off the subject... but wanted to share my though....
Back on topic--how do I sign up for this SysAid Cert?

Gentlemen and Ladies out there.
I have been working with SysAid for many years and have implemented it in many different companies, each being unique!!!
I recently paid for the certification, sat through the sessions at 02:00am in the morning. That was a tough ask!!!
By no means do I consider myself as a SysAider that knows everything. I do believe I have a better than average comprehension of the product.
I have to say that I learnt quite a bit during the certification course.
SysAid is a unique product, you could with a certification start training other companies. That is dependent on other legal requirements determined by the country you are in.
