Dear Portuguese speaking SysAiders !

We are currently working on an official translation of SysAid 5.6 to Portuguese (Brazil).

I would appreciate if one of you chip in and give your inputs on what we put together so far.

We are in the phase of finalizing and testing it so I don't want to post the actual file yet.

Please reply to this post if your are interested in receiving the translation file and I will forward you the information on how to obtain it.

Thanks in advance for your help !

Today I tried translating the End User interface here, and it didn't work for some reason..
Everything else I translated is working fine, but the End User Interface didn't work.
I restarted Tomcat, SysAid, everything and didn't work. Can you give me any advice about how to do it?
And about this Portuguese translation you are working on, how can I get it? And does it translate the End User Interface as well?
I'd like to see it and even help you finish it.
Thanks,

Hello Alexandre Taitson Moreira,

each user has a personal language, and the user will only see the translations you have made if his set-up language is exactly the same as the language you uploaded the translation to.
You can change the default language for your users under preferences > account defaults.

Please make sure the language field in this page is the same as the one you have uploaded the translation to, if not, change it to the modified language and this should allow your end users to see the translation.

Best regards.
Haim

They are both the same languages already, I set that up when I first logged into SysAid
Same Language, same Encoding, and still not working.
I read all I could about the translation files, not only on Portuguese forums, and I still couldn't make it work.
Its not that "the End users can't see it as it should be"... The problem is that no one can see as it should be, not even me. I translated it on the Translation file, but it didn't work for anyone. Even already having all Account Defaults the same as the Language I set up for SysAid.

Hey Alex,

I have uploaded the Portuguese translate file to my own installation and was able to properly view the translations which you have made. That being so, can you please send an email to our help desk at helpdesk@ilient.com regarding this issue and we will be happy to further address the problem in a more personal manner.

Did you also check the End-user portal translations?
Were they also working?
I can see all translations I made, except for the End user portal translations.

When I upload a translation file, where does it go to? In order for SysAid to read it.
Does it 'go' anywhere, or it just change the path for the translation file and reload it?
My boss just told me that MySql might not be working properly on this computer. Could this be the reason? Or a SysAid reinstall could help in any way?
Thanks,
Alexandre Taitson

edit:
Yes, its accessing the Translation file just fine. I changed a few more stuff and it worked out fine, just my End-user interface that does not translate.
I talked about the Remote control session here and it can't be done, as its an internal network only. Is there any other way for me to fix this?

Hi Alex,

Hope you managed to overcome your technical issue you posted.....

As I posted above, We have been working on an official translation to Portuguese.
I am attaching the file.

I would appreciate your inputs on it - we will fine tune and make it available in the installation for all Brazilian Portuguese speakers !

Thanks a lot! I couldn't make it work yet, and yours translated it fine, even the End user portal.
Some inputs about it:
- Some translations are a bit literal, and in Portuguese they seem a bit strange, there are better words. (and some are even wrong due to fake cognates)
- Some characters are not being recognized, and thus being replaced by a "?". I know it might be just some Encoding change I need to do, may I ask you if you could enlighten me on this?

If you need some help with translations, I'd be pleased to help then.

edit: (I changed the Encoding to Brazilian portuguese and re-uploaded the translation file, now it works perfectly here with no encoding errors)
edit2: After changing the Encoding and re-uploading, it works perfectly, but on this computer only. If I log on my account, but another computer, its with the weird characters again. I know its just an Encoding issue on their computer, but even when I set the Encoding on their browser to the same as mine, it still doesn't work.
I know its not an issue related to SysAid anymore, but would you happen to know how to fix this?
Thanks a lot =]
(btw I ask this much because this is indeed my first job on this area, and I didn't graduate yet, actually starting college.. its a temporary/training job, so I end up asking a lot. Sorry for the inconvenience, and sorry if you don't understand something I write, English isn't my main language..)
