I believe that a jump from Vista to Seven is most likely going to happen. I Finnally got three of my end users to see the advanteges of Running Vista 64 over XP64. The machines my end users use run bloated 3d cad solidworks software. Recentely I got one of the Engineers to break the mold by telling them that vista might offer better performance when dealing with his two quad core processors and 16gig of ram. He bit on it and after a quick training session on vista's improoved indexing search features and useful navigation of windows he is in vista heaven. Now everyone wants it installed, Oh and yes it did improve over all performance. And we could get rid of the ridiculous google desktop and side bar for a better more integrated one.

The biggest way to get rid of user complaints is to turn off the UAC make it first priority.

Love Vista if you don't your not using it right. take a training course and be in ahhh.

I've made the jump from XP to Win7 and made it my main work machine. So far it's going pretty well but I'm not sure how much of that is due to the huge jump in hardware spec ....

My Old PC (Pentium D) had issues running XP and i had a lot of performance issues, once I upgraded to Win 7 (RTM) the computer became much faster.

We will stick to XP as long as possible. Vista is bad and Windows 7 is way to early to implement when it will be released.

Just my $0.05 worth (inflation), but Win7 is great so far! I love the new task bar, it makes my life much easier. The Library feature is a bit confusing still but growing on me. So far only issue was in deployment of SysAid Agent. Because of the security in Win7 it would fail. I ran it manually, clicked the Allow button and it installed and showed up in SysAid just fine. Have tested Chat, InstantMessage and eMail so far and they all work. Haven't tested remote control fully yet. Also, customized SysAid a bit and it all worked without a hiccup.

I haven't used Vista much, but I know it frustrates me when people come in with it on their laptops and I try to setup our wireless WEP key to work. It's a total pain, so much for easier to use on that front.

I would say, start your testing on Win7, it seems to work well and I haven't had anything that didn't yet. I loaded VirtualBox with WinXP Pro just in case so I can crank up a virtual XP box to run anything that requires it. So far, I have had to.

Wish I had a touch screen so I could play with Multi-Touch. Oh well...

Hi
I am currently using Windows7 Beta on this machine. It seems to run great on a gig of ram and an older PC that I was able to claim for testing purposes (much better than Vista with 2 gigs). The only real problem I seem to run into is that the sysaid agent would but will not report or update to the server, and an occasional hiccup with PDF's in IE8.
