I mean the bible where all fields in any screen in sysaid are listed along with tyepe of data and original purpose ?
I suspect improvisations of those "safe" fields could cut down your supports' tweaking or customizing time...

That is not a bug, it's a feature...

Obelix,

Would'nt all the fields be in the translation file? You could use this to create some sort of reference?

Obelix,
I'm not exactly sure if I understand your request.
All the fields in SysAid (including the customize lists) can have their names changed using the translation file.

You are looking for a list of the variables names for each field? just search the translation file for the field's name and you should find it.

Regards.

Sorta...
Since not all fields appear by default... I want to have something I can go through real quick to know what I can use... what's available... what sysaid is offering.
Many times I create workaround simply cause I didn't know sysaid already provide a field that could help !
Especially after an upgrade when new features usually comes with new sets of fields.

I need a list not only about what they called, but what they are for.

This could just be a request for the way the translation file is layed out.

I would agree it is quite difficult to find specific things that need changing within it, so a change would be helpful.

If possible the format of the translation file could be changed to a spreadsheet/csv, with description of what the field is for alongside in the next column. You could also then keep a column for historic names, etc, as well as colour coding your translation file into categories such as Red = used, green = unused etc.

However, I am not so sure you would need what a field is used for because the field names are pretty self explanatory, aren't they. Can you not tell what a field name is for, from the field name? I mean that's why the names are what they are, right???
