Hi,
Three weeks ago i have installed and configured my sysaid server, it was working perfectly till a few days ago.
There were no changes/configurations/updates made to the machine or sysaid.
At this moment i cannot even see the login window, with a 404 not found.
At the server i am trying to open "C:\Program Files\SysAid\IliTask.exe" -TaskType 1 -TaskParam "Set None" -TaskParamInt 200 with the shortcut at the desktop and nothing happens.
I have checked sysaid logs and i found this:
18/Fev/2010 18:58:00 org.apache.tomcat.util.threads.ThreadPool logFull
INFO | jvm 1 | 2010/02/18 18:58:01 | SEVERE: All threads are busy, waiting. Please increase maxThreads or check the servlet status75 75

Then i have increased the maxProcessor at the server.xml file to 500
Have reebooted and still nothing.
I have also found lots of things like this: (and the number keeps rising)

Either log4j.xml or log4j.properties is NOT found in the classpath. Placing the log4j configuration file in the applications classpath should solve the issue.

That is not a bug, it's a feature...

Having a similar issue here though on a dev environment that we use for testing upgrades
one additional item to note for us the SysAid server service also stops after about 13 minutes.

Hi,
My colleague have tried this:
- added new activation.xml C:\Program Files\SysAidServer\root\WEB-INF\conf (old activation.xml should only expire 02-28-2010)
- moved out from the folder C:\Program Files\SysAidServer\root\WEB-INF\logs all the existing logging (xml and log files)
After this if we check the new log files created we have:

Each of the retries to open sysaid a new entry in the log file is added:
[WrapperStartStopAppMain] ERROR com.ilient - Cannot connect to database on startup. Waiting 30 seconds to re-try: Connection timed out: connect
We add a specific connection to our SQL Sysaid instance could it be that somehow the configuration was lost, where can we check for those parameters within the configuration files?
Our SQL server is working perfectly.
Any clue?
Regards,
Rodrigo Catarino

Open the ...\SysAidServer\root\WEB-INF\conf\serverconf.xml file and search for the DB tags.
For SQL backend, you need to have this syntax :
<dbConf>
<dbDriver>net.sourceforge.jtds.jdbc.Driver</dbDriver>
<dbUrl>jdbc:jtds:sqlserver://localhost:1433/sysaid</dbUrl>
<dbUser>sa</dbUser>
<dbPassword>password</dbPassword>
<dbType>mssql</dbType>
<dbEncoding>utf-8</dbEncoding>
<dbMultiply>false</dbMultiply>
<dbMainName>ilient</dbMainName>
</dbConf>
You may replace "localhost" with your sql server, "sysaid" with your database name and make sure that you are able to login with the sa / password

Hi Ori,
Thanks for your reply!
I have followed your instructions although it is not working yet.
[EDIT] I have noticed that a few minutes after the sysaid server service stops. I force the service to start, it starts and then i try to open sysaid and nothing happens.
Do you have any suggestions?
Regards,
Rodrigo

If this is the case, i prefer to schedule remote session with you for this. Since you already opened a service request for that, please reply to it and let us know when would it be the best time for you to schedule this.
