Hi nvisibl,

You can use the server name instead of his IP or\and redirect to helpdesk:8080 to your SysAid Server.

Best Regards,

thanks

in which way do i do the redirect? i'm thinking in terms of DNS where maybe i'd create an A record with host name helpdesk to point to the computer name that hosts sysaid? but with this i can't include the port numbers 8080 in the DNS record, and the default port 80 is already being used by another service on the computer

These are another definition of redirection

kk, in that case you need to add an A record and point it to the necessary machine for the helpdesk.etc domain name. You may need to create an HTML refresh page on port 80 to refresh to your helpdesk port. If you contact SysAid support they should be able to do this with you. helpdesk@sysaid.com
