Hi everyone,
1:
Is it possible to tell sysaid to send only 1 time an e-mail after an event occurred with the monitoring option?
Now every 5 min. sysaid send an e-mail to us if there is something wrong with a server.
We would love to see a change in that.
2:
If we enable the automatic service request on a monitoring error, does sysaid every time (thus each 5 min) fill in a new service request?
Or does sysaid do it only 1 time? (if we not react on the problem, when there is a services down for example)
3:
Is it possible to set the time between each measuring?
Standard sysaid does a measuring each 5 min. We would love to set a larger time span between each measuring.
Kind regards ,
René

Hello Rene.
1. SysAid should notify you by mail, sms or SR only once after an event occurred and then it won't send any additional notifications until the issue has been fixed and happened again.
lest say for example, that in a CPU test, your server reached the threshold to send a notification since he reached 90%.
A notification will be sent once, and after the reading will be back to normal and then back to 90% a notification will be sent again.
2. The notification in the monitoring module is working in the same way, no matter if it is an email, SMS or SR, so answer 1 apply here as well.
3. Currently, this is not possible in SysAid, however, you can ask this as a feature request for a future version in the feature request forum
Best regards
Haim

Hi Haim,
Well this is not the case over here. Sysaid keeps sending e-mail every 5 min. after an event has occurred. To be clear, the e-mail is for the same event.
And when I insert an automatic SR request, Sysaid will make a new services request for the same problem every 5 min.
I can send you the email which is send by Sysaid.
We got 4 new services request after 20min the event occurred. All about the same event.
Kind regards,
René

In this case, I think we should investigate it in a service request to understand why it is happening.
Please open a service request at helpdesk@ilient.com and we will further instruct you on how to resolve this issue.

Hi Haim,
Well I found what went wrong.
Sysaid does send 1 e-mail after an event occurred. I added all the services of Backupexec for monitoring.
After well reading of the 4 E-mails sysaid did send, I noticed they are not the same.
For every Backupexec services, sysaid did send an unique E-mail. In my inbox they all looked the same but the E-mail body is a little bit different.
Sorry for that.
So nothing wrong with sysaid.....
Kind regards,
René

What about a notification for when said service comes back up? Would also help reduce on the confusion as well as let all the IT staff know that they can stop freakin out.
