Is it possible to have SysAid listen on 2 ports.
We orginally setup our SysAid on 8087 but we would like to change it to 80 but while we migrate I would still like the exisiting machines to connect on 8087.
Welcome to our community, I hope you will find all the help you need here.
What you are asking is possible if you are using the original default tomcat server and IIS at the same time.
But what you are asking is not relevant because you can set everything and only then restart the SysAid Server Service to apply it and you will be available all the time.
The way that IIS access to Sysaid works is through ISAPI redirect to the same tomcat instance that Sysaid is listening on. You set up a new site on IIS environment. The site's virtual directory just redirects to the instance of Sysaid running in Tomcat. There is not another instance of Sysaid running. Clients are still set up to use the tomcat server's port (default 8080) and asset discovery, remote sessions, etc etc run in that environment. So what is the use of setting up IIS to listen on say :8888 ??? The browser can be configured to pass throught he user's windows credentials and you end up with a very slick single sign-on to Sysaid.
