When I'm doing something tedious I listen to Frank. Frank calms me down...
On a more cut 'n paste situation I listen either to prodigy or crystal method. They give me a military grade spirit to outlived the stress.
Between those two ?
I listen to anything except reggae.
My current fav is Paul Oakenfold's "Switch On"
Love it so much I make a ringtone out of it....

I used to be all about the rock and metal but my housemate is really getting me into dance music at the moment so got lots of that on the ol' iPod. MOS Chillout for getting in the zone, some DJ Format for making sure I don't loose the will to live! lol
Sean Ofir - love the line about aikdo! So many people do martial arts but focus on the martial side and forget the art and spirit side of things. *bows*

Well, when I'm working on service requests, or on forum posts, I like listening to rock , Brit pop, and Of course, the Beatles, which always put a smile on my face

My work is slow so i have to have music that will keep me awake. Mostly old Metallica, Rammstein, and Mindless Self Indulgence.

I love metal... but once you do other thing than listen to it, it became unbearable noise.
Fotunately... hybrid genre band like Linkin Park, Rob Zombie helps a lot.

Interesting topic.....
When handling calls or anything personnel or client oriented tasks, I'm not listening to much.
But, during tedious tasks when I can zone out, I also like old Metallica, Queensryche, Static X, White/Rob Zombie etc.....
Also love heavier stuff, my iPod is full of Slayer, My Dying Bride, Nevermore, Cradle of Filth, Deicide etc...
Mellower stuff includes Vanden Plas, Tea Party, Satriani.
I think a lot has to do with what you are doing at the time...

Yngwie Malmsteen, Joe Satiriani & Steve Vai are in all my playlists. After that I listen to lots of Spanish classical guitar, blues and, of course, classic rock.

I tend to have something like the Chillout channel from di.fm running.....
Read somewhere recently that if you have to have music playing while working etc, make sure its instrumental as voice puts you off...

Ha, I have always found a bit of Jamie Cullum very calming and helps me work. Suppose that's probably one for the Brits on here...
