Hi Please search for the remote agent thing... I don't have it installed but as I understood you install a remote agent, he will collect data and send it to your sysaid server. For more info please refer the online aid, documentation or sysaid support. Maybe someone who have this feature working will help you. Lev

Hi,
I would also like to know if somebody accomplished event viewer monitoring in any way.
The free way is a better one

I have HTC HD2 with WinMO 6.5.
There are some issues like 3 languages - one of them is Hebrew and here and there.
Overall WinMO getting better and now Phone 7 when is out don't forget to check it as well.

I"ll join my friend, it looks more pro and easy to read.
One thing bothers me is loose of color
With the old newsletter I could tell - that one is from Sysaid.
Just my 2 cents

Hi JackMartin
In older versions of Sysaid it did work as you described but now the newly deployed agent looks for few parametrs:
1-MAC
2-If it's a brand than Serial and manufacturer.
If there will be a positive match than the asset will be updated with new data.
Now for your last question.
The PC have a registry entry called ID. If you change the NIC the old entry will be updated. If you install a fresh copy of OS and deploy or
simply uninstall and install the agent you will get a new asset BUT ! if thats a brand PC the agent will try to find it serial and manufacturer
and with a positive match the old asset will be updated !!!
Hope I got that right and understandable.

HI,
I might be wrong but:
1-If you deploy with the deploy tool go to edit - settings.
Under " Run Method" if you run it as a service you can change the number of seconds between every "check-in".
2 - There is a registry key: HKLM\Software\Ilient\Agent. Please find the DWORD named Interval, its value in Decimal is 30 - change it as you want.
Hope that helps,
Lev

Hi Jackson
Sorry for waiting so long for answer.
Remote registry is a must for the deploy, firewall - only some ports (TCP 139,TCP 445,UDP 137,UDP 138,UDP 8193).

Hi nvisibl
At the moment accounting won't fit to Sysaid...
Maybe a lot of programming will fit something but the main issue is "A LOT".
I guess you can query the sysaid DB for things you need an insert them in to your accounting software.
Sysaid is very user\admin friendly for day to day tasks, inventory ....
Maybe you should keep it apart from accounting. I know we do .

About the how old question.
Look at the ID, if the ID is MAC and it's a brand PC like DELL that it old, now it would be DELLXXXXX (serial).
I think the mac-serial change was in v6 or v6.5. I don't remember for sure.

Can you be more detailed about 2,3,4?
I think that event log monitoring will help us (to prevent data loss before HDD failure like event ID 7, etc )
The monitoring and the maint should be first line of defense. They can prevent variety of problems.

Hey John ! 1 - please give me the exact-long name of the dash. 2 - Install sysaid agent on the new OS and the agent will look for ID which in brand PC will look like DELL65465, It will look for the manufacturer and serial fields in the database and if match is found the existing asset will be updated. disclamer: if the asset was created a long time ago than there might be a problem. At the beginning sysaid agent looked only for ID which was the MAC address. In this case you'll need to change the ID of the old asset: Deploy agent look for the new ID. Go to import assets and import from csv with OLD id and a new ID. 3 - the history should remain with the asset. Lev
