Please install SysAid on Ubuntu with correct utf8 configuration as the following steps:
Step 1, Install Ubuntu and MySQL
Step 2, Install java
sudo apt-get install sun-java6-jdk
Step 3, Install Tomcat and configure for it
sudo apt-get install tomcat6
edit the file of /etc/init.d/tomcat6
search the line of #use java security manager? (yes/no), then replace the the following line of
TOMCAT6_SECURITY=yes
with
TOMCAT6_SECURITY=no
edit the file of /var/lib/tomcat6/conf/server.xml then
insert the following item in < connector />
URIEncoding="utf-8"
restart Tomcat
sudo /etc/init.d/tomcat6 restart
Step 4, Modify the configuration for MySQL
edit the file of /etc/mysql/my.cnf
insert the following two items in [mysqld]
character_set_server=utf8
character_set_client=utf8
Step 5, Install SysAid

Pls go to "Perference" -> "My settings" to check the language list field whether is selected as Chinese or not.

Hi King,
SysAid 7.0 already has Chinese language translation file. Now you just need to enable it and apply Chinese to all admins and users.
1. To enable Chinese,
Please goto "Preference" -> "Account Defaults" and make following changes, then click on save button.
2. Apply Chinese launguage to admins and users
Please goto "Preference" -> "User Management" -> "Admin Manager" and "Enduser Manager" and make following changes, then click on save button.

The default unit should not be changed since "time to response" and "time to repair" are calculated in milliseconds.

I want to know the ratio between SysAid Admins vs SysAid managed end users from all of you SysAiders.

1. Open translation file with Notepad
2. make you change on file
3. select file, then click save as
4. you can find encoding drop list for choice
5. select utf-8 and save the file

Hi,
Automatically changing SR status to "Client Responsed" when client replys email to SysAid will cause another big issue.
If you reply an email for Change request or Problem instead of SR, you will find the status of Change request or Problem will be changed to "Client Responsed" as well.
But the status of "Client Responsed" is not designed for Change Request or Problem.
