Dear SysAid,
I don't know if anyone put this in yet but I noticed that with version 6.5.05 that the Agent does not get software information from Windows 2000 machines for the Asset List. Will it be possible to get this information in the near future release?
Thanks,

Unfortunately, this is not possible. As i mentioned before, the only way to achieve this is to use the Software Products
module. You can create multiple templates for various version (for example, FireFox 2.0 / FireFox 3.0)
When you finish, you can add or remove field from within the Software Procuts List view.
Best regards,
Itay
Has any else have a desire to do this?

Lev wrote:Hi,
If you'll open the asset management => software products you will be able to open a new software like firefox and choose from a list of installed software.
You will see what PC's use this software. You can manage your licenses, prices versions ....
If you will make a connection between a PC and a software as stated above you will see that in the asset software tab the software will appear separately as a link.
Hope thats what you are looking for.
I tried this and it is useful but it is not exactly what I am looking for. What I am looking for is I want to be able, in the asset list, to have a column that shows the version of firefox (ie. 3.5.5) or any other software for a specific asset. Like I want a list like this:
<computerName1> | <version of firefox for cN1>
<computerName2> | <version of firefox for cN2>
<computerName3> | <version of firefox for cN3>
etc.
Can you do this?

To start out I went to Asset Management --> Asset List
At the top of this screen I clicked on the gear which is also called "Customize List".
I set the fields in this display to be "Name" and "Software".
Software prints ever piece of software on that computer.
What I am wondering is can you make a column/field for a specific piece of software? Such as Mozilla Firefox version?
Patiently awaiting your replies,

Did re-creating the scheduled reports solved the issue?
Nothing has changed in the upgrade that should cause any issues with scheduled reports, but the upgrade process can cause those kind of issues in rare cases or it can surface issues that were hidden beforehand.
If re-creating the reports didn't resolve it, please contact our support and we will be glad to further investigate the issue.

No, now my it manager is not getting any error messages nor is he getting reports in an e-mail even after the job recreation. I have submitted a help desk request via phone but I haven't got any concrete answer as to what I could change to make this work. It has been over a week now.

Hey there.
In case some scheduled reports don't run at the scheduled time, please try to delete the scheduled report and re-create it, this should resolve the issue in most cases.
If it doesn't, please contact our support at helpdesk@SysAid.com with a short description of the issue and the ...\SysAidServer\root\WEB-INF\logs folder (zipped) for our review.
Regards.

My boss is not getting the error messages mentioned above anymore but now he isn't even getting the emails. Did something change on this feature from SysAid v6.0 to v6.5? If not do you have any other potential solutions to this problem?

Hello SysAid Community,
I was wondering if there was a way that I could retrieve the manufacturer's date or the purchase date from Asset Management or any other part of the Help Desk for each computer with the agent installed. Please let me know if I need a certain version of the agent to install on all of the computers.
Thanks,

Hello all,
I have a computer on my network that shows up as an IBM but it is really a Dell. The agent has already been installed on the computer but there is no update to the asset entry. Is there a way for the asset information to update without having to redeploy the agent?
Thanks,
Gunther IT

There are a lot of names of computers that don't exist in the list but they will be cleared out next week. I was just wondering what was the most efficient way for my company to remove old computers or update names of computers with the agent installed. Also I was wondering how I could get a date of the age of computer.
Thanks,
