Migration from Firebird to Derby database

As of SysAid Release 6.0, Firebird databases are no longer supported by new SysAid releases.

An automatic migration tool from Firebird to Derby is available under a special 5.6.11 release.

This patch will first upgrade your SysAid to 5.6.11 - a special release that includes the migration tool.

After the upgrade - you will need to run the migration tool available under : ..\SysAidServer\util\MigrateFireBird2Derby.exe on your SysAid Server.

During the migration process, your SysAid Server will not be available - the downtime depends on the size of your database and may take a few hours in extreme cases of large databases depending on the server configuration.

The log of the migration is located at ..\SysAidServer\root\WEB-INF\logs\FirebirdMigration.log and you may followup on the migration process and results.

In the event the migration tool fails to migrate - you will return to work with your original Firebird database and will be requested to contact support for further assistance in the migration.
