New Modules:

CMDB
CMDB – Configuration Management Data Base is part of the ITIL practice. It is aimed to include all the relationships between all system components as well as contain information about incidents, anticipated errors and problems, and corporate data about employees, suppliers, locations and business units.

The CMDB module can hold an unlimited number of CIs (Configuration Items) of all types: system items, service items, physical items, conceptual items, etc. For each CI SysAid allows more than 250 customizable fields - to fit your exact needs. You can even set different views for each CI type. For instance, SysAid allows you to see only the relevant fields for 'system item' CIs, while for  'physical items' you can see a whole different set of fields.

The SysAid CMDB maintains a comprehensive list of all types of relationships between your CIs, and helps you predict the influence of changes in your network on future developments and business impacts. Therefore, using the SysAid CMDB may significantly lower your expenses.
For instance, let's say you decide to upgrade the memory on one of your servers. Such upgrade will probably put this server down for a short while. The SysAid CMDB can show you in advance that putting this server down might influence your sales application, which uses the database on this server. Now you will be able to prevent this, by saving your database on another server while you upgrade the memory on that particular server.

SysAid CMDB shows your CIs information in various instances. You can see information about your CIs directly, or via other CIs which are related to them. To use the example above, if you check your server on the SysAid CMDB, you will be able to see all the assets, catalog items and software programs that are related to it- including your sales application- and thus follow the best procedure in upgrading its memory.

Any problem on a specific CI can now be easily detected with the CMDB, and thus any future interference on higher levels- such as business impact- can be prevented. Similarly, malfunctions on a specific CI can be easily tracked back to CIs on the lower levels, and fixed with maximum efficiency.

In addition, SysAid CMDB includes an automatic import of assets, software products and catalog items - SysAid performs a fast and simple deployment into your CMDB.

SysAid Community
The new SysAid release 5.5 includes the SysAid community, which is intended to be a place for SysAiders to communicate with each other and with our team. The SysAid community is the place to consult, suggest, request features and share ideas and experiences.

The community is intended to serve SysAiders not just in working with SysAid, but also for general IT issues you can discuss with other IT professionals worldwide.

Moreover, you will be able to download from the community directly into your own SyAid useful information such as translations or knowledgebase entries.

New Features:

Reoccurring Events
SysAid version 5.5 enables to create either manual or automatic reoccurring  incidents, correlated to the task that can be deployed either on a single time or a daily/weekely/monthly basis.

The information under this task  includes all the related incidents, so you can track them.

The new Sysaid version also deploys all incidents regarding a project. You can manually create a matching incident to all the correlated tasks in a certain project. You can use this as a  template incident distributer, for reoccurring  incidents such as IT operations for a new employee, end of year check list, etc.

Support and upgarde information
Under Preferences -> About you can see the statues of your SysAid maintenance and verify it is still valid. You can also check the amounts of all the licenses for your assets, end users and administrators.

Improve Audit Log
In previous SysAid versions, administrators could get only partial information from the sysaid.log file. The new version provides an improved audit log with specific information to help detecting and identifying audit related information.
The entries in the log provide detailed information that can be used to examine the source of issues.
The improved audit log can be accessed from SysAid. It is designed as a part of the SysAid interface, and allows you to filter information, as well as to perform a search.

SysAid Agent information
SysAid 5.5 includes the information of the SysAid Agent in a separate field to enable easier monitoring.

Signature (Auto Text)
Administrators can now edit their own auto text used when sending messages through SysAid. Editing auto text is available both for the header and the footer of a message. A special tag- “$” can be used to insert variables.

Auto notification improvement
SysAid 5.5 new version offers you an improved display of  messages in  automatic notifications: you can choose under Preferences whether to display the notification by default to all or to none,  within the message itself you can manually set your preferences simply by checking a box,  and now SysAid also renders it easy to distinguish between messages and auto notifications.

Tasks notification
SysAid 5.5 allows sending email notifications on the Task and Projects module. The notification mechanism also allows setting notification templates and recurrent notifications.

Incident duplication
SysAid 5.5 allows duplicating SR, or creating from the existing service request a new service request, in a fast and a simple way.

General Usability
We have improved the usability of SysAid in several instances:
Under Preferences -> User Management -> Groups Tab, the groups page is now consistent with other tabs; it includes the upper menu buttons that allow you to add, delete or modify a group.

Unnecessary spaces in the start/end of an SR number in SysAid search mechanism are now automatically trimmed.

Notify on SR change
SysAid 5.5 changes the status of an SR if a note is added by the end user, and automatically notifies the administrator, according to your escalations rules.

Split request name
It is now possible to see either the name of the user who submitted the SR, or the username of this user. You can choose which information suits you best, and avoid unnecessary repetition.

Due Dates updated according to changes
SysAid 5.5  is capable of recalculating due dates when changes occur , if the parameter is enabled.

Knowledgebase view improvements
The design of the SysAid knowledgebase is now improved and you can scroll down to see your Knowledgebase information without changing the tree view. In addition, you can easily locate your current position in the tree view.

Total Activities Time per Project
We have added a report with an overview of projects, and information on tasks and activities. This new report also includes numerous types of filters to meet your needs. For instance, you can filter the report according to a specific project, according to a certain category, company, status, group, date, etc.
In addition, this new report calculates the progress of your activities. For example, in case five hours were scheduled for a certain task, and three hours have already passed during which this task was performed, SysAid report ‘Total Activities Time per Project’ will show a progress of 60% in the scheduled time.

Parent ID Variable
We have added a Parent ID variable, as an option for the service request notification.
